The Buzz: The Patriots lost their preseason opener, but Austin Carr had the catch of the night

The Patriots fell to the Jaguars in their first "game" since capturing the Super Bowl, but that doesn't mean everything was dark in Foxboro. Of note: rookie wide receiver Austin Carr was particularly promising.

While he made a handful of grabs on solid routes, Carr's touchdown catch at the end of the first half was particularly jaw dropping. Just check it out:

That's one heck of a route, and an even better catch. Carr finished with a celebration in the end zone, which was well deserved for the undrafted free agent from Northwestern.

Carr may have to unseat a veteran somewhere to earn a roster spot, but he certainly seems to be on his way to doing just that, with a touch of help from backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, of course.
