Pulisic and McKennie headline USMNT squad

Earlier today, USMNT manager Gregg Berhalter revealed the 26 players who will take on Cuba and Canada in key CONCACAF Nations League contests later this month. The Stars and Stripes lineup features 18 players from the MLS and eight from leagues around Europe including the Turkish Super Lig, German Bundesliga, and English Premier League.

Chief among the big names coming back to the US for the international break is Captain America himself Christian Pulisic, who will look to use this time to show Chelsea manager Frank Lampard that he can play in big spots. So far this season, Pulisic has strangely been absent, playing in six matches and giving the team three assists. If he hopes to have a fruitful future with the Blues, he will need to pick it up soon

Another player to watch will be USMNT newcomer Brendan Aaronson, who moved up to the Philadelphia Union's first team after starting his career playing for the club's USL affiliate, Bethlehem Steel. So far in 2019, he has made 27 appearances, has scored three times, and added two assists. This call up to his nation's first team will prove a massive step, even if he doesn't actually play in either contest.

The Stars and Stripes will continue their long road to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup with a matchup with Cuba on Friday, October 11th at the Audi Field in Washington DC and then with a game against Canada at BMO Field in Toronto on Tuesday, October 15th. We will be sure to cover those contests as they happen.
