Manchester United finalizes move for Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United fans from around the world finally had something to be happy about on Thursday afternoon after the mammoth club announced that they have finally completed a deal to bring in superstar midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Clube de Portugal. The agreement is said to last five and a half years and will expire only when Fernandes will be in his early 30s.

In addition, the Red Devils will send an initial payment of 55 million euros (60.6 million dollars) to Sporting for his services and can send another 25 million euros (27.5 million dollars) down the line, making this a potential sale around 88 million dollars.

Talking with the press soon after reaching this deal, Fernandes revelled in his opportunity to play for the world's most famous English club just like his fellow countrymen Cristiano Ronaldo, who made his move to United back in 2003 from Sporting Club de Portugal as well.

"My love of Manchester United really started when I used to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play and ever since then I have been a big fan of this great club. For me to now play for Manchester United feels incredible, I have worked hard to get to this moment and I promise the fans that I will give everything for the badge to help us bring us more success and trophies."

The newest United player is known both for scoring goals in bunches, particularly in set pieces, as well as setting up for his teammates. As of today, Fernandes has 13 goals and 10 assists in all club competitions thus far and sports a phenomenal 7.82 player rating according to WhoScored.com. To put that into perspective, Fernandes would be BY FAR the United's best player with their highest-rated player only holding a 7.34 score right now.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke about what made Fernandes such an attractive player for him. "Bruno's goals and assists stats speak for themselves, he will be a fantastic addition to our team and he will help us push on in the second part of the season. The winter break is coming at a perfect time for us to integrate Bruno into the squad and for him to get to know his teammates."
